Homes Tasmania is established under the Homes Tasmania Act 2022 and commenced on 1 December 2022.
Homes Tasmania is Tasmania’s housing and homelessness system manager.
The role of Homes Tasmania is to deliver social and affordable housing, giving priority to Tasmanians most in need. This includes helping Tasmanians into:
- crisis accommodation and support
- social housing, including supported accommodation, public and community housing, and specialist accommodation for vulnerable people
- affordable housing, including affordable land, affordable private rentals and affordable home ownership.
