A Request for Tender (RFT) is now open for the development of 32 West Mooreville Road, Park Grove into 55 residential lots.

Homes Tasmania is committed to increasing social and affordable housing options for Tasmanians.

Burnie City Council approved a development application for the subdivision in September 2023.

Civil construction contractors are encouraged to participate in the RFT which closes 31 July 2024.

The first lots need to be available for sale in 2025.

The construction of the subdivision will result in more than $14 million in economic benefit to the region.

More economic benefits, including job creation, will result from the construction of the new homes on the subdivided lots.

Once completed, around 85 per cent of the developed lots will be available for sale through the MyHome Shared Equity Program.

Homes Tasmania will keep around 15 per cent of the subdivision for social housing development.

Releasing more land for residential development is key priority outlined in the Tasmanian Housing Strategy. This includes the release of 800 residential lots across the state through the Homes Tasmania’s land release program and developing options for the efficient release of private land for residential development.
