Homes Tasmania is improving how we deliver maintenance on our properties by trialling a new delivery model for the South.

We have released a Request for Tender to establish a Property Maintenance Contractor Panel (the panel) to deliver general maintenance works in the State’s South.
General and specialist maintenance services, tradespeople and subcontractors in the South are encouraged to apply to be part of the two‑tiered panel:
- Tier 1 contractors will provide multi-trade or specialist maintenance services, such as vacant property maintenance works and occupational therapist requests
- Tier 2 contractors will provide single trade-specific services, such as painting, fencing, flooring, cleaning, plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
The two-year trial will begin on 1 July 2025 and is expected to deliver maintenance faster to tenants, resulting in better maintained homes and lower maintenance costs overall.
The panel will provide a streamlined process for panel members to quote simply and quickly for maintenance work on Homes Tasmania’s properties.
Around 750 maintenance work orders raised each month are expected to be allocated to the panel.
The head contract arrangements in northern Tasmania will be extended until 30 June 2026.
Tenants should continue to contact Homes Tasmania on 1300 665 663 between 8:45 am and 5 pm on weekdays for general maintenance requests, or 24 hours a day for emergency maintenance.
